I like her name by the way... I see Saleene as someone compassionate and a very kind person... She doesn't hesitate those in need... Even of she doesn't know them, she's willing to do something to ease their souls... She's also very powerful though it's extent was not revealed in this book...
Dartian:
I see him as an Alpha male who's willing to do anything for a close friend and for a mate... And when I say Alpha, he was not really that annoying but he was always a teaser... I really love how he treats Saleene... And I also like his instincts, all the time they were right...
Story:
It was actually okay... I was quite surprised when I reached around 75% of the book and I haven't read a very interesting part yet... For the part of Saleene's cousin, it was not really that lively for me... It was somewhat dull... I didn't read something unique with it...
Anyways, the first chapters were nice and it kept me going but the latter chapters were okay... But since the story is not yet finished then I have to say I shall read the next books cause I want to know what happened to the guy who dreams of Saleene's sister...

I really enjoyed this story. I always love when I find a new twist on shapeshifters. It's the first book in the series so not all answers were revealed but other than that I enjoyed the book.
A nice story with likeable characters. The supernatural of it all, including shape-shifting, enhances a reader's enjoyment. Saleen will win over even the most diehard skeptic. Get it...you'll like it.
This is a good story line but it did not flow well for me, it seemed stilted if that makes sense. Magic, a stubborn woman, an alpha wolf, and romance what else do you need except maybe chocolate. Happy reading!
I enjoyed this book. The world building is interesting and the characters are well written. It is a little wordy, and could have been edited a little more. I did enjoy the conflict between the heroine and the hero.Oil
The main story is quite fascinating and has great potential, but overall it needs a lot of editing. I really liked the idea of forgotten races reappearing and the connection the characters had with nature. However, there were so many grammar issues that the further into the book I got, the harder it was to read. There were also gaps in the story that made me have to make sure I hadn't skipped something. With some editing, this book could be great. Porter has now entered my list of authors to keep an eye out for in the future.
I'm not really sure what I didn't like about the book. I just feel like there needed to be more details there were certain parts I was confused about. on a positive note it was an aweful book..it was just ok. I wont be continuing the series, just not worth it to me. id recommend this if it was free, but I wouldn't spend money on it.
The story and characters are good, but there are a lot of places that could be polished and made to flow better. In some parts it is only dialogue and in others only description. These could be combined to show what the characters are thinking while they are speaking. While two are speaking, there is no mention of the other characters in the scene and then another character just jumps in without transition. There are sections where the story jumps from one place to another without explanation or transition. In a few parts the characters contradict something that happened earlier and in others things that happened to one character are spoken about by another who shouldn't know those facts. In one section of the front the author changes to third person present tense instead of past tense like the rest of the story. Sometimes it seemed as if things were skipped over or assumed to be known (in the authors mind) leaving a disjointed feeling. Overall the idea for the plot and the characters are good, but the writing seemed fractured and could have been much smoother. There should have been a lot more editing before this was published. Maybe the author can go back and edit these issues.
